Requested move[edit]

Sherwood Park, AlbertaSherwood ParkSherwood Park only page about a community on disambiguation page and just typing Sherwood Park brings you here.Kyle1278 (talk) 00:57, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Largest hamlet in the world[edit]

How is this calculated? What's the source? The word 'hamlet' means different things in different countries. - Aucitypops (talk) 09:36, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's been re-branded as a "urban service area". So was Fort McMurray, which has more people. Statement removed. --Qyd (talk) 13:29, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sherwood Park, AlbertaSherwood Park — With a population of over 61,000, and meeting the requirements for a city, I believe that it should be like most other cities and Fort McMurray, and drop the ", Alberta" suffix. 117Avenue (talk) 04:54, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, Qyd is incorrect in asserting that the guideline spelled out at WP:CANSTYLE is for cities only. Any settlement which either has a unique name, or can be convincingly demonstrated to be the primary topic for a non-unique name, may be moved to a disambiguated title regardless of whether it's a city, a town, a village, a hamlet or an unincorporated two-house crossroads on the highway — as one might well know if one were to actually read the footnote after the word "cities" in the very first sentence. History[edit]

This section seems more than a little biased. 161.19.64.243 (talk) 20:57, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Biased towards/against what? 117Avenue (talk) 23:30, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sports[edit]

The sports section needs to be heavily updated. I live in Sherwood Park, and have been playing football for years. That info as been there for a long time, and as a firsthand source I tried editing the section. Someone changed it back to information from around 2005/06. Chasmosaurus13 (talk) 15:50, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You as a first hand source is original research, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. Any new additions to the Sports section should have cited sources that are considered reliable to maintain Wikipedia's policy of verifiability. Hwy43 (talk) 04:41, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mayor[edit]

The mayoral section needs to be updated to reflect Roxanne Carr's win of the recent municipal election, but i'm terrible at sourcing info. Could anyone help me with the process? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chasmosaurus13 (talkcontribs) 05:12, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Carr doesn't become mayor until she's sworn in. 117Avenue (talk) 05:36, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
