How did he die?

[edit]

Given the Ned Kelly connection, the article should mention what caused his death... Nil Einne 18:29, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently he died from pneumonia; I added this, as well as the source, to the Article. -- Michael David 22:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uni building

[edit]

An 12 story building at Melbourne University is named after him. 220.237.180.83 13:47, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As is Barry Drive, a major road in Canberra (but there's no official eponym of Ned Kelly in the national capital, believe it or not). -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 11:22, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Grave

[edit]

Added a photo of his grave, which is significant in that - in 2016, Louisa Barrow was finally acknowledged. Nickm57 (talk) 00:49, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace of Redmond Barry

[edit]

There is reliable evidence that the birthplace of Redmond Barry the son of Henry Green Barry was not the village of Ballyclough near Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland. The evidence is that he was born at Ballyclough (also spelt Ballyclogh) a townland that is between Kilworth and Glanworth and not far from Fermoy in Co.Cork. Griffiths valuations, the Irish Tourist Board and other sources can confirm this. Fermoy is about 20 miles east of Mallow. Local residents near the Kilworth/Glanworth Ballyclough have long been aware of Redmond Barry's birthplace. Eureka Trial [the first]

[edit]

At the 150 anniversary of Eureka trials at the Victorian Supreme Court the first trial wasn't presided over by Redmond Barry but the Chief Justice. 175.39.31.240 (talk) 09:52, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
